Privacy Policy
Manualfor.life is a quiet public archive. We collect as little as possible.

What Manualfor.life is
Manualfor.life is a public archive where people leave one short thought — a lesson, regret, courage, kindness, or change — for others to read. The writing happens at app.manualfor.life. This site explains the project and links you there.
Because traces are meant to be preserved and shared, we treat the archive as public by design — not as a private journal.
What we collect
We keep only what is needed to run the archive:
- Trace text — the words you choose to submit through the app.
- Technical data — information our hosting and infrastructure need to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep the service running (for example, IP address, browser type, request logs, and error reports).
- Email, if you contact us — if you write to hello@manualfor.life, we receive your message and email address so we can reply.
What we do not collect
We do not ask you to create an account, build a profile, or hand over a long list of personal details to leave a Trace.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data through the submission form. We do not sell personal data. The archive is not built for advertising profiles or data brokerage.
Public traces
Traces you submit may be visible to anyone who visits the archive. They may appear in lists, featured sections, search, or shared links. Others may save, copy, or share a Trace outside Manualfor.life.
Please do not submit private information you would not want the public to see — names, addresses, phone numbers, medical details, financial information, or anything that could identify you or someone else without their consent.
Cookies and analytics
This landing site may store your theme preference (light or dark) in your browser’s local storage so your choice is remembered when you return.
We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics or essential technical cookies to understand how the site is used and to keep it reliable. We do not use traces for advertising targeting.
Third-party services
Manualfor.life runs on infrastructure provided by third parties — including hosting and database/backend services — that process technical data on our behalf so the site can operate securely.
Those providers handle data according to their own policies and our agreements with them. We choose services that fit a small, public archive — not a data-harvesting platform.
Data removal
If you submitted a Trace and want it removed, email us at hello@manualfor.life with enough detail for us to find it (for example, the Trace text or link). We will review reasonable removal requests in good faith.
Because the project is a public archive, removal may take time, and copies shared elsewhere may remain outside our control.
